The purpose of the Manusher Jonno Foundation (MJF) program is to enhance the capacity of and opportunities for poor women, men and children to demand improved governance and recognition of their rights. This should contribute to the project goal, which is to make poor women, men and children more able to achieve their civil, political and economic and social rights and to improve their security and well-being.

Manusher Jonno is funded by the Department for International Development (DFID), which is the UK Government department responsible for promoting development and the reduction of poverty.

Manusher Jonno provides funding to "Partners" (also called "grantees") to implement some projects submitted by the Partners and approved by Manusher Jonno . A leading principle in Manusher Jonno's development work is that the activities financed by MJF shall be carried out efficiently and that the funds shall be administered in a secure manner.

In order to live up to this principle, the MJF Secretariat provides the present Partner Guidelines which explain the minimum requirements as far as the funding provided by MJF is concerned.

These Guidelines do not replace the Deed of Agreement. In case of contradiction or discrepancy between the Guidelines and the Agreement, the latter prevails...
