Manusher Jonno Foundation (MJF) is looking forward to a better governed Bangladesh where the fundamental rights of all people, irrespective of their class, ethnicity or profession is ensured.

MJF will contribute towards such a Bangladesh by harnessing the potential and work of all its diverse partners, build synergy between them, continue to link with relevant networks and coalitions and together embark on a movement towards ensuring rights and good governance for all.

In the near future, MJF will continue to support innovative initiatives on rights and governance at grass root as well as mid and national levels. The support will be in the form of funding and capacity development. MJF will also support advocacy efforts of partners as well as of other stakeholders plus engage in advocacy and campaigns on some critical and cross cutting issues such as Right to Information. MJF is planning to work with government, research groups; Trade Unions who are not NGOs but nonetheless play an important role in ensuring rights of people. Besides this, MJF will continue to improve its internal systems, regulatory mechanism and incorporate international standards of transparency and accountability.

In the distant future, MJF will expand its program in the six priority areas, develop greater in-house expertise and link up these programs with country priorities and policies such as the Millennium Development Goal(MDG) and Poverty Reduction Strategy (PRS). Using its comparative advantage, MJF will get involved more proactively in monitoring national and international commitments that GOB has made. MJF will explore options of further expanding its networks outside of Bangladesh especially in the region and linking those up with organizations working in Bangladesh ..

Finally, MJF will address the issue of NGO governance, the transparency and accountability of the sector as a whole. This is important if the non governmental sector is serious about playing a useful and sustained watch dog and monitoring role.
