Specific Criteria in relation to Grant size

Organizations registered either with NGO Affairs Bureau or the Department of Social Welfare of the People's Republic of Bangladesh can ONLY apply for the funds.

Grant size Micro and Small:

•  Basic understanding on human rights and governance demonstrated by initiatives, approaches etc.

•  Steps/policy/practices exists for ensuring gender sensitivity in the organisation

•  Has constituency of poor, discriminated and disadvantaged groups

•  Minimum 2 years working experience on development issues.

•  Maintains basic accounting and reporting system, for exp. separate books of accounts, external audit, accounting/financial manual etc.

Grant Size from Medium:

•  Clear understanding on human rights and governance demonstrated by initiatives, approaches etc.

•  Capacity to carryout right based development programme

•  Flexible to reform the organisational strategy and structure as well as proposed initiative based on the emerging issues and needs.

•  Has constituency of poor, discriminated and disadvantage groups

•  Minimum 5 years working experience on governance and/or rights issues

•  Maintains efficient reporting system, operational guidelines and financial system, such as, accounts is dealing by professional accounting personnel, accounting/ financial manual, name and address of the last 5 years external auditor, salary structure, and cash flow statement for last three years.

Grant size : Large and Macro Projects

•  Organisations have already demonstrated their capacity and carried out right based programme previously

•  Demonstrated tangible changes at different levels such as process, outcome etc.

•  Proven track record of working with poorest and marginalized people or policy advocacy etc.

•  Wide networking at different level

•  Active in advocacy, lobbying and able to influence state machinery

•  Demonstrated democratic and gender sensitive management culture with in the organisation

•  6-10 years working experience of rights or governance work.

Effective programme and financial management, such as, separate accounts department headed by professional accounting personnel, accounting/ financial manual, personnel policy or service rules, name and address of the last 5 years external auditor, salary structure, and cash flow statement for last three years
